Tata Power Renewable Energy has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for commissioning two large solar power projects in India.

Located in Maharashtra, the 200 MW and 150 MW solar farms mark a significant milestone in India’s efforts to accelerate renewable energy adoption and reach net zero by 2070, according to Tata. Due to be commissioned by mid-2025, the projects are forecast to reduce CO2 emissions by 44.2mn t/y and 3.1mn t/y, respectively.

Tata has tied-up 930 MW of electricity supply with MSEDCL to date, out of which 334 MW is currently supplied and the 596 MW balance to be commissioned in next 12–18 months.

At present, Tata has a total renewables capacity of 7,783 MW, with an installed capacity of 4,118MW (of which 3,136 MW is solar and 982 MW wind) and 3,665 MW under various stages of implementation, including this latest 350 MW.
