Road traffic comes to a standstill as one of 22 ‘bullet’ high-pressure storage tanks makes its way to what will be the world’s largest green hydrogen plant at Oxagon City, in Neom, Saudi Arabia. The colossal tanks, being transported and installed by heavy lifting and engineered transport specialist Sarens, each weigh 1,000 tonnes, with an average length of 100 metres by 8.5 metres in diameter. The plant is due to be fully commissioned by the end of 2026, when it will be powered solely by renewable electricity to produce up to 600 t/d of green hydrogen.
