Experimental study on the reactivity of fly ash from a fluidized-bed water-gas gasifier, Journal of the Energy Institute, 78 (2), 2005, pp 98 - 101

The gasification reactivity of fly ash from a fluidized-bed water-gas gasifier has been studied using a thermal-balance analyzer with CO2 as the reactant gas diluted with nitrogen. The reaction temperature was between 1123 and 1323 K and the CO2 partial pressure was from 0.02 to 0.1 MPa. The gasification reaction rate decreased with an increase of the carbon conversion. The higher the gasification temperature, the higher the extent of carbon conversion and detailed measurements were made of the rate of reaction at 1173 and 1273 K. At the same gasification temperature, the gasification reaction rate is higher with a higher CO2 partial pressure.
