Petroleum Review April 2017

This month’s issue of Petroleum Review assesses the impact of terrorism, kidnapping and extortion on oil and gas operations in a number of countries in Africa. We also take a closer look at Ghana, which is experiencing a power generation shift as it focuses on gas developments in the drive to transition to a low carbon economy.

Unconventional oil and gas remains a big imponderable in the global sector and we provide an update on some of the latest regional developments in the US, Canada, Argentina, the UK, Europe, South Africa and China.

We also look at how professional engineering institutions – including the Energy Institute – are adapting to meet the needs of a changing society and review the on-going skills shortage being faced by the engineering sector as a whole.

Looking downstream, this month’s issue provides an overview of the key trends driving today’s global market for fuel
