Revised vibration and corrosion guidance published

The EI has published revised guidance helping to underpin the health and safety processes of global oil and gas operations which were promoted alongside both the Middle East HSE and Sustainability Forum in Dubai and the Asset Integrity and Operational Management conference in Aberdeen.

Industry expert steering panels worked with the EI in the development of guidelines on the avoidance of vibration induced fatigue failure in subsea systems, integrity management of corrosion under pipe supports (CUPS) and injection of corrosion inhibitors in production systems.

EI Technical Director Martin Maeso commented: ‘This new guidance on managing vibration and corrosion is of global relevance to the oil and gas industry. Good practice guidance on maintaining agein infrastructure is not only vital to avoid major accidents hazards but helps improve safety whilst reducing unplanned maintenance and repair costs.’
