Perspective - Russia’s technology drive

Production is declining at fields discovered several decades ago in Russia, and finding and developing new reserves is becoming more difficult and expensive. Companies are already drilling at blocks with minimal reservoir permeability – as low as 0.1 millidarcys.
Faced with such complexity, Russia’s oil producers are looking at new technologies to develop ‘hard-to-recover’ reserves without increasing costs.
