Taipei’s largest PV plant finishes construction
ECOVE, a Taiwanese environmental management company, has completed the installation of the largest photovoltaic project in the city of Taipei.
The plant is located on the roof of the Beitou Depot, part of the city’s metro system, and is expected to generate some 4 GWh of renewable power per year.
According to the company, the solar plant will save around 2,200 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the city each year. The project was initiated following government calls for renewable installations along the Taipei Metro. ECOVE was subsequently awarded the development rights for the site.
