Most oil producing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa rely heavily on oil export revenues. For them, the energy transition presents a dilemma. Governments and national oil companies (NOCs) want to increase oil and gas production – and revenue – but investors are increasingly moving to renewables and low carbon projects.
