Howden to supply compressors to Shell biofuels facility
Shell has selected Howden compressors for what will be one of Europe’s largest biofuels facilities producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel from waste.
The company recently announced the final investment decision (FID) to build an 820,000 t/y biofuels plant at the its energy and chemicals plant in Rotterdam, formerly known as the Pernis refinery. The facility will be capable of producing enough renewable diesel to avoid 2.8mn t/y CO2 emissions and will help Shell to meet its target of becoming net zero.
