Coral FLNG sets sail for Mozambique
The Coral-Sul floating LNG (FLNG) vessel, which will be the first FLNG facility ever to be deployed in the deep waters off Mozambique, has set sail from Samsung Heavy Industries’ shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.
The FLNG vessel, which is part of the Coral South project, is now enroute to its operating site in the Rovuma Basin. Production start-up is expected in 2H2022. The vessel will produce some 450bn cm of gas from the Coral field and has a gas liquefaction capacity of 3.4mn t/y.
Eni is operator of the project, which is located in Area 4 offshore Mozambique, partnered by ExxonMobil, CNPC, Galp, Kogas and ENH.
