Production starts at Yunlin offshore wind farm, Taiwan
Power generation has started from the first turbine of the Yunlin offshore wind farm reports TotalEnergies. Once complete, Yunlin will have a generating capacity of 640 MW from 80 turbines, each rated at 8 MW, targeted to produce 2.4 TWh/y of electricity.
TotalEnergies is developing the wind farm alongside the EGCO Group and a consortium of Japanese investors. The first turbine was commissioned and connected to the grid in November, with the aim of getting the first batch of nine turbines in operation by the end of 2021.
