N Cottam, Betting on green hydrogen, New Energy World, 13 April 2022

In the global energy economy, the potential for green hydrogen fuel has been increased significantly due to the improved availability of wind and solar power. To this end, substantial government grants have been allocated to the Hynet initiative, and the ITM Whitelee facility in UK. The latter will produce up to 4 t/d, sufficient to power Glasgow’s bus fleet. ITM are also to build a 100 MW electrolysed for Shell in Germany. Hydrogen can be stored as pressurised gas, and also transported as such by trucks and pipelines. It can also be shipped as liquid, and handled in chemical carriers such as ammonia.
