In US, ground tests are underway by NASA and Boeing to determine the emissions from 100% SAF in comparison with low-sulphur Jet-A. Since SAF lacks aromatics and sulphur, there are less chances of non-volatiles forming in the combustor, and Volatiles in the exhaust, hence reducing overall emissions. These ground results will be directly translatable to cruise conditions
