In US, GE proposes that the gap between the 2.5 maximum Mach No of a supersonic turbofan and the minimum 3.5 Mach No. of a ramjet could be closed by means of rotating detonation combustion, resulting in a rotating turbo-based combined cycle system applicable to Mach No. 6.
