In the sustainable aviation fuel world, flights undertaken with the Emission and Climate Impact of Alternative Fuels (ECLIF3) study by DLR, Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Neste confirmed the reduction in contrails compared with Jet A-1 due to lower emission of soot particles and ice crystals, particularly with the lower concentration of sulphur.
