G Warwick, TechTake, Cranfield University proposes C-130J hydrogen testbed, Aviation Week & Space Technology, !6-29 September 2024, p 62
In UK, Cranfield University is proposing to acquire a Lockheed Martin C130J 4 turboprop Hercules, and convert it for flight testing multiple hydrogen technologies. There would be sufficient space for two 7.2 ft diameter aluminium tanks containing up to 3680lb of liquid hydrogen. Either one or two engines would be converted to hydrogen, and the test data sent to operators on the ground.
