Real possibility for synthetic e-fuels, New Energy World, 11 September 2024

In the aviation fuel world, e-fuels are emerging as a vital interim step in the elimination of carbon. In addition to the activities in India and USA, plus the Oxford project in UK (all previously abstracted), numerous projects are under way, mostly involving green hydrogen and solar power, to produce e-ammonia, e-methanol, e-jet fuel, e-diesel, e-gasoline and e-methane. In US, research includes a process of deriving hydrogen by e-cracking ammonia rather than burning it. For successful further development, governmental support is essential.
