Heathrow ramps up SAF ambition as UK government moves to de-risk supply, New Energy World, 25 February 2026
In UK, Heathrow has announced an enhanced scheme targeting 5.6% SAF usage by end 2026 rather than the government mandated 3.6%, which should reduce CO2 emissions by 600 000 tonnes. It also intends to increase SAF use to 11% by 2030. Feedstocks include hydro processed esters, fatty acids, alcohols, gases and e-fuels. Comparable activities are under way in Europe, Pacific Northwest, US and Sweden
