Bangladesh launched its 2012 oil and gas offshore bidding round in December, after several delays. A total of 12 offshore blocks have been put out to tender in the Bay of Bengal, nine in shallow waters and three in deepwater. The round includes two discovered shallow-water fields, Kutubdia and Teknaf. Bids will be accepted until 14 March 2013.
