The 20th century saw growth in population, food production and energy consumption and a shift from rural to urban areas causing a major impact on the environment. The earth now faces a decline in a number of areas: oil, natural gas and coal, minerals and ores, economic growth, grain harvests; fresh water and population. We must now change attitudes, behaviour and expectations. This book looks at many of the changes we will need to make as nature dictates new limits and suggests how we might make the transition from the Age of Excess to an Era of Modesty.
