Low NOX flat flame natural gas burner for high temperature furnaces. Journal of the Energy Institute, Volume 81, Number 4, pp. 205-210(6)

A low NOx flat flame self-recuperative burner, based on the Gasdynamic Abated Flame Temperature (GAFT) principle, is presented. The new burner was tested for a 50 kW load in a 1000 × 1000 × 800 mm combustion chamber of inner wall temperature up to 1200ºC. Experiments have shown that when the combustion air is preheated up to 500ºC, a zero value of NO was observed. The modelling confirms qualitatively the experimental NO results, however much lower NO concentration was calculated.
