Buncefield - the final report

The explosions and fires at the Buncefield oil storage depot near Hemel Hempstead in December 2005, triggered a fundamental review by the oil industry and regulators of large-scale petroleum storage. The Process Safety Leadership Group (PSLG) - formed in response to the incident - has now produced a final report including the full and final guidance on the 25 recommendations set by the Major Incident Investigation Board. Peter Davidson, Process Safety Programme Manager, UKPIA, describes the development process adopted by the PSLG, and key features of the final report.
