Reducing flaring emissions

In US, Expro has provided a solution to the well-flaring problem for the Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan via a mobile high-pressure high-flowrate 'Megaflow' separator vessel designed to direct all produced fluids and gases to process facilities rather than to the flare. In the first stage, free liquid is centrifuged out of the gas, any entrained liquid remaining being removed by more extensive centrifuging in a second stage. The working pressure rating is 2160 psi at temperatures from -45ºC to 177ºC, with maximum rates of 175 m cu.ft/day of gas, 25 000 b/d of oil, and 6290 b/d of water.
