Caspian Sea contract for newbuild jack-ups
Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC) reports that Dragon Oil has awarded a three-year contract to BKE Shelf (a subsidiary of EDC) for the provision and management of the Neptune and Mercury jack-up rigs in the Cheleken contract area, Turkmenistan, in the Caspian Sea. The newbuild Neptune drilling rig is expected to be available in early 4Q2013 and will provide well drilling services for nine months. The second newbuild, Mercury, is anticipated to be available in 4Q2014 and will provide well drilling services for the remainder of the term.
