Oil revenues from Iraqi Kurdistan
Turkey’s government has proposed that oil revenues from Iraqi Kurdistan be collected in an escrow account at a Turkish state bank and then distributed between regional government and the central government in Baghdad, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said last month. Turkey is also in talks with Iraq’s Kurdistan regional government about joint exploration on 13 oil and gas blocks in the semi-autonomous region. The Turkish Energy Company is aiming to partner with a third party in six of the blocks, it has been reported.
