CG partners ANDE to bolster Paraguay grid expansion

Avantha Group Company CG has signed a contract with the State Utility of Paraguay – Administracion Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) – for eight single- and three-phase transformers totalling 420 MVA, for the expansion of the country’s 220 kV and 66 kV electricity network. Paraguay is one of the world’s largest exporters of electricity, and also exports to neighbouring regions like Brazil and Argentina. The Paraguayan grid has 1.3 million customers and approximately 32,000 km of distribution lines. It has been growing at a rate of 4% on a yearly basis since 2009.
