Connecting renewables and smart grids - a role made for HVDC

As energy providers roll out renewables and smart grids there is a growing need for high-capacity interconnectors and transmission links to ensure power can be delivered where and when it’s needed. High-voltage direct current (HVDC) has a central role to play, as Colin Green explains.
