£5m funding: Systems integration of energy supply and demand

Closing date: 24 September 2015

The RCUK Energy Programme seeks outline proposals for research in the field of systems integration of energy supply and demand. Up to £5m of funding is available.  The idea is to bring together engineers and physical scientists from across the energy sector to tackle the research challenges involved in integrating the energy supply, storage, transmission and demand sectors.  A two stage process will be used to inform the funding decisions. This call seeks outline proposals, which must be received by 16:00 on 24 September 2015. (Please note that this call will not be open in Je-S until Tuesday 01 September 2015).  The outline proposals will be assessed at an expert panel to be held in early October 2015. Those judged to have the best potential for success will be invited to submit full proposals.  Up to £5 million is available for this call with EPSRC looking to fund a research centre. The successful proposal must clearly identify how the research will complement and add to existing RCUK Energy Programme investments, in particular the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC).  Applicants are strongly encouraged to open a dialog with existing RCUK Energy Programme investments before submitting an application.
