NORA is the State Agency responsible for the holding of national strategic oil stocks at a level determined annually by the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. Such stocks may be held directly by the Agency itself or on its behalf by third parties in Ireland and/or in EU Member States with whom Ireland has concluded a Bilateral Oil Stockholding Agreement. NORA is also responsible for the administration of Ireland's Biofuel Obligation Scheme

The REA was established in 2001 , as a not-for-profit trade association, representing British renewable energy producers and promoting the use of renewable energy in the UK. The REA endeavours to achieve the right regulatory framework for renewables to deliver an increasing contribution to the UK's electricity, heat and transport needs.
